Bribery case: Prof. Anitha Ravishanker suspended from service

Mangalore, Dec 7, 2012: Prof. Anitha Ravishanker, Associate Professor in Department of Sociology of Mangalore University, who was trapped by the Lokayukta while accepting bribe from a research student recently, has been suspended from services by the Mangalore University.


The suspension came after the Lokayukta submitted a report to the University on December 6, Wednesday. Mangalore University Vice Chancellor too has confirmed the action and informed that the official room of Anitha Ravishanker in the Sociology Department has already been sealed by the Lokayukta officials.


Prof. Anitha Ravishanker has also been relieved of her post of warden of the girls’ hostel of Mangalore University. She has been replaced by Shashirekha, the warden of the working women’s hostel.
