Mangalore, Mar 24: Leo Pereira, a real estate businessman based in Miyar, has been allegedly kidnapped by the land mafia on March 22, Monday. 

His family lodged a complaint at the Karkala police station on Tuesday morning. As per this complaint, Mr. Periera spoke to his family over the phone when he was returning home from Mangalore on Monday evening. 

Reportedly, the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of Rs 25 lakhs. Two telephone calls were placed to his family from his mobile, during which Periera asked his family to make arrangements to pay the kidnappers. 

Leo Pereira, the owner of Konkan Enterprises, a real estate and construction concern, has constructed a number of complexes in Karkala and its neighborhood. One of these constructions is Konkan Complex at Jodukatte.
