Cancer Awareness Programme held at St Joseph’s Seminary

Mangalore, Jan 26, 2013: A Cancer Education and Awareness Programme was organised at the Sacred Heart Hall of St Joseph’s Seminary on January 26, Saturday in association with the Mangalore Diocesan Chair-in-Christianity of Mangalore University

Dr Suresh Rao and his team from the Mangalore Institute of Oncology–a cancer specialty hospital were the resource persons. Dr Rao, in his address, enlightened the gathering on the various types of cancer that can affect man and also the latest treatment available for the same. He also spoke about breast cancer and cervical cancer cases which are on the rise.

Dr J Akbar also spoke on the occasion. There was also an interactive session wherein the audience got their doubts clarified by the resource persons.

Fr Leo Lasrado Fr John Baptist Saldanha, Rector of the Seminary  Fr Joseph Martis, the staff and the students of St Joseph’s Seminary actively participated in the awareness programme.
