Mangaluru, March 11, 2016 : The road from Pumpwell to Padil is closed to enable completion of a road work resulted in traffic chaos at Pumpwell, Nanthoor and Bikarnakatta on Mar 10, Thursday putting commuters to hardship. Only one-way traffic has been allowed on the road from Padil to Pumpwell. Padil and B.C. Road-bound traffic was diverted at Pumpwell via Nanthoor Circle and Bikarnakatta to reach Padil Junction.
As a result, city buses, especially route No. 11 series buses, operated via Yekkur Junction on NH 66 and Yekkur and Bajal. At Pumpwell, buses were forced to halt in front of Omega Hospital for passengers to board and alight and take a left turn to Nanthoor on NH 66. According to the police and Mangaluru City Corporation officials, traffic movement from Pumpwell to Padil would be restricted for at least the next one month.
