Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, July 19, 2015 :  Speaking at the birth centenary celebrations of Swami Chinmayananada,  the Pejawar Mutt seer said Swami Chinmayananda brought out ancient Hindu religious texts in English that made youngsters realise various facets of Indian culture.

He said Swami Chinmayananda was among the few religious leaders who worked towards establishment of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.  Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Pejawar Mutt has said that the discourses of Swami Chinmayananada instilled the richness of our ancient practices in the minds of youngsters, who have been under the influence of the western culture.

Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Veerendra Heggade said Swami Chinmayananda did not restrict himself to discourses but also contributed to education and health. Earlier in the day, the Chinmaya Jyoti Ratha — a bus with tributes to Swami Chinmayananda — was ceremoniously received on the Chinmaya Mission premises near Rosario Cathedral Pandeshwar. The Chinmaya Jyoti Ratha started its journey from Ernakulam on May 8. It will move through 150 cities in 238 days and will culminate at Pune where a programme will be held to mark the centenary celebrations.
