Commissioner states FB not co-operating in probe into Kateel Goddess insult case

Mangaluru, Sept 11, 2016: City Police Commissioner M Chandra Shekhar has said that the non-cooperation of Facebook has been a hindrance to the police in  the investigation into the case wherein some derogatory posts were made against the Kateel Goddess in the social networking site.

The Commissioner said that  Facebook has not been  furnishing the information regarding the accounts from which the posts were made. Stating that the Police here would send another reminder to Facebook, he added that if there was no response, then  it would be inevitable to move the court.

The Commissioner stated that the police have gathered some information regarding the case from a person from Chikkamagaluru who has been arrested recently.

 Regarding the finding of a hidden camera fixed in the ladies toilet of Mangalore University, he said the investigation is underway and that it has come to light that the video footage from the camera has been sent to the cell phones of many people.
