Mangalore, Oct 7, 2014: The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has started distribution of LPG cylinders weighing five kg in Mangalore city.  The cylinder can be bought by furnishing an ID card with photograph on it. For the normal LPG cylinders, one has to furnish address proof.  To purchase five kg LPG cylinder, one has to provide only an ID card.

The five kg cylinders will cater to the need of IT professionals, students and other migrant workers who have no need of the  regular large 14.2 kg cylinder.  To avail the cylinder, one will have to pay Rs 1,590 which includes Rs 1,000 for cylinder, Rs 250 for regulator and other taxes. The cylinder can be refilled by paying the market price.  The cylinders can be shifted to other places in case of transfer.

The five- kg cylinder will be available at Savukaara M Babu and Company at Lady Hill, M A Krishna Nayak and Company at Kodialbail and St Joseph’s Service Centre in Valencia, said a release from BPCL.  For details, one can contact the toll free number 1800-224-344.  BPCL has been supplying 5 kg cylinder in Mysore since last month.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited Executive Director Pramod Sharma launched the scheme by distributing the cylinder to a customer.  BPCL Marketing division General Manager Manohar Rao and others were present on the occasion.  BPCL Executive Director Pramod Sharma distributes five kg weighing LPG cylinder to a customer in Mangalore.
