Bangalore, Mar 22: The Congress has expelled 15 rebel candidates who were contesting for Brihath Bengalooru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) civic elections to be held on March 28.
Ramachandrappa, the former mayor and KPCC spokesperson, informed journalists that the party has dealt sternly with 15 Congress candidates who were contesting the BBMP elections in spite of not getting nominations. The expelled candidates include 4 women and 2 block congress presidents within the area of the BBMP. He said that the Congress has taken stern action against the rebels after their failure to withdraw their nominations. He also said that many candidates could not get a party ticket owing to the decision to provide representation to all sections of society in a bid to ensure social equality and justice.
The former Mayor is confident that the Congress will be the single largest party that will gain power in the BBMP elections.
