Court rules in favor of dismissed lecturer

Mangalore, April 30: The Education Appellate Tribunal of Udupi has ordered the immediate reinstation of Prof Emmanuel Lalith Kumar, the history lecturer of SMS College, Brahmavar, who had been fired. 

Joselyn Lobo, the president of Association of Mangalore University College Teachers (AMUCT), said that the court has rejected the contention of SMS College, OSC Educational Society. 

Observing that the internal enquiry was just eyewash, the court dismissed all the charges framed against the lecturer by the management. The court has also ordered the institution to pay salary and other benefits to the lecturer from the time he was dismissed.
