Cyclone effect: fishing boats returned to sea shore

Manglore, May 21: The effect of cyclone Laila in Coastal region made hundreds of fishermen to anchor their boats in the old Bunder area in the city. For the last two days they did not go into sea for fishing.

As the disturbance of cyclone Lalila intensified in Andra Pradesh, claiming the life of 16 persons, many of the boats from Bunder area, sailed for fishing, have returned to the sea shore.


A fisherman said here that, after a warning from the meteorological department, fishermen from Bunder area have not gone into the sea for fishing. Though, some of the fishermen have tried to conduct fishing activity, monstrous waves have made them to backlash from fishing.


Meanwhile, state revenue minister, Jagadish  Shetter has conversed with all the district deputy commissioners over a video conference about cyclone effects in the coastal region. On the video conference he advised all the commissioners to take necessary steps to ensure that the cyclone does not have any devastating affect in the state.
