DCIB cops nab 5, serial thefts

Vittal, Oct 16, 2014: The DCIB sleuths have arrested five persons involved in scheming  to loot a rich person in Vittal and seized lethal weapons near Kepu Ashrama School on October 14. According to the police, the arrested are Asif Rahman Shareef, Azeem of Kushalnagar, Abdul Rahman and Purandara Naik from Puttur. There are theft cases reported at Shareef in Moornadu police station. He was also involved in looting foreigners in Goa. Asif and Abdul Rahman were in overseas countries four years ago and are friends. The five persons were involved in collecting information on rich persons in the region to loot the house. The police arrested them during routine check. The police have recovered chilly powder, mask, three swords, one knife and five mobile phones. All the arrested have been remanded to judicial custody and investigations are in progress.
