DK district receives highest rainfall of 52.5mm at Ariyadka

Mangaluru, Sep 20, 2015 :    Director of KSNDMC stated that  Ariyadka in Puttur taluk of Dakshina Kannada district recorded maximum rainfall of 52.5mm in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on September 19. Kallur hobli in Manvi taluk of Raichur district recorded maximum temperature of 36°C at 5.15pm on September 18. Rajeshwar hobli in Basavakalyan taluk of Bidar district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 17.8°C from 6.30am to 6.45am on September 19. 

More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 78% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 0% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 23% of hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall =2.5mm. Rather heavy rain was recorded in 12 gram panchayats; moderate rain in 409 gram panchayats, light rain in 382 gram panchayats; very light rain in 732 gram panchayats; and no rainfall in remaining 3,473 GPs across the state.

Karnataka for the period from September 13 to September 19 recorded surplus rainfall of 3%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 38mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 39mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on September 19, four geographical regions received 3mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 7mm, a 63% deficit departure from weighted-average normal.
