Devadiga associations distribute scholarships among students

Mangalore, Aug 6, 2012 : The Dubai Devadiga Sangha and Karnataka State Devadigara Sangha distributed scholarships among students studying from the SSLC to undergraduate courses at a special event held at Devadiga Samaja Bhavan in Mannagudda on Aug 5, Sunday. Dinesh Devadiga Kadri, president of Karnataka State Devadigara Sangha, presided.

Harish Sherigar, president of Devadiga Sangha Dubai; Dinesh Devadiga, secretary of Devadiga Sangha Dubai; Moses Jayashekar, vice president of District Educational Department; U. K. Kumarnath, editor of Vijaya Karnataka; and several office bearers of the two associations were present on this occasion.

The associations distributed scholarships among 370 students, studying from the SSLC to final year undergraduate courses.

The organizers also unveiled a portrait of late Rama Maistri, founder president of the Sangha and donor of the land on which the Devadiga Bhavan is located.

In his address, Dinesh Devadiga urged students to use their scholarships wisely. He said that Devadiga Sangha Dubai has organized similar scholarship programs for the benefit of needy students in the community.
