Mangaluru, July 3,2017: Reports say that KMC Hospital Attavar observed Doctors’ day on july 1, Saturday along with the patients as a gesture of gratitude to the doctors a a whole. The team paid floral tribute to late Dr TMA Pai the founder of Manipal Group who was also a philanthropic doctor followed by lighting the lamp and watering the saplings in founder’s memory which will be planted under respective guest placards in the Marina Campus- Attavar of KMC Mangaluru.
Dr Madhusudan Upadya-Professor of Anaesthesiology, KMC Mangaluru was the chief guest for the celebration and Sabrina from Diletto Lifestyle and Wellness Pvt Ltd and renowned artist Ravi Wagle, were the guests of honour, who through the canvas and art were offering to help the public to express gratitude to the community of doctors.
Artist Ravi Wagle painted a canvas along with the patient who wished to convey their best wishes to the doctors and the painting was displayed in the lobby area of the hospital where many patients, their kith and kin s and staff wrote their appreciation messages to the doctors.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Madhusudan Upadya recounted the days when doctors were considered next to God due to their efforts to save lives, but in today’s era even the doctor is not spared of violence by few. Dr.Upadya urged the public to consider doctors as humans and not to ignore their selfless service to the community.
The guest of honour, Ravi Wagle said this is an small effort through canvas and paint to express love, gratitude and appreciation to the community that offers their service irrespective of time, place, situation and risk. Dr Santhosh Rai- Chairman of Silver Jubilee Committee felicitated the guests and quoted “the doctor community serves mankind irrespective of wealth, creed and gender, and it is time to celebrate them.”
