Mangalore, May 12: Dr. Rajasekharan P. Warrier, who was the vice chancellor of Manipal University for 3 years, is returning to New Orleans, United States, to take up a new job. He said that he is going to take care of kids suffering from cancer.
The credit of establishing the first simulation lab of its kind in the country goes to Dr. Warrier. He also established the Volunteer Service Organization and the palliative care programme, which gained immense popularity in a short period.
The University’s board of management has promoted Ramnarayan, the dean of Melaka Manipal Medical College, as the pro vice chancellor of the University for 3 years. Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, the registrar International Programmes and executive director of planning, has also been promoted to the post of pro vice chancellor. He will continue teaching community medicine at KMC Manipal.
