Mangaluru, Sep 11, 2016: As per reports available, EPFO, Employees Provident Fund Organisation, as part of ongoing month long special recovery drive, has recovered Rs 58.20-lakh from MCC, Mangaluru City Corporation. The recovery officers attached the civic body’s bank account, Prasant K, regional PF commissioner II, said. EPFO has launched the special drive on September 1 that ends on September 30 where stringent recovery actions under section 8B and 8G of the EPF Act has been initiated.
The drive has also been taken up under II Schedule of Income Tax Act, 1961 and action being initiated against defaulting employers. Recovery and enforcement officers of EPFO have been directed to take all recovery action, including arrest and detention of defaulting employers. Under the drive, recovery officer attached the moveable property (car) belonging to M/s CICB-Chemicon Pvt Ltd and similar action is being planned against other defaulters, Prasant stated.
