Elderly lady knocked down and killed by speeding bus

Mangalore, Oct 31, 2012 : An elderly woman was killed when a speeding bus knocked her down near Kankanady Bus Stop today.

The deceased is Veronica Pinto (72), wife of Anthony Pinto of Kulshekar who had just got down from a city bus when a private bus plying from State Bank to Adyar knocked her down and killed her.

She was going back home after attending her relative’s first death anniversary mass in Nagori Church.

Although Mrs. Pinto was rushed to hospital immediately, she died within a few minutes.

The Mangalore East Police have registered a case.
