Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, June 06, 2016: Reports from Bantwal indicate that Shambur AMR Dam across the River Netravathi recorded water level at 19 feet on Friday June 3. It is said that water released from this dam is used for generation of electricity.

Sources say that on April 23, the dam was empty but 42 days later the water had reached its maximum level. Production of electricity has thus resumed. People residing on the banks of the river have been warned about the water being released and serious danger in the vicinity.
