Fake Passport case: Two in Judicial custody

Kasargod Sep 10, 2016: A local court has remanded two suspects in fake passport case to judicial custody. The police on Thursday had arrested Abdul Muneer (47) and Ahmmed Jihad (27) in connection with the passport scam. With this, the number of arrested has increased to seven.


Ijad was arrested on the charge of possessing the fake pass port and Muneer was arrested for creating fake pass ports. All the details furnished in Ijad’s passport except the photograph are fake. Muneer created fake documents related to address and educational qualification for Ijad before submitting the application to the pass port office.

Accordingly, the pass port was issued to Ijad. He had paid Rs. 40,000 to Muneer for it. Ijad had received pass port in the address of one Mohammed Ijad of Paddannakadu Karuvalam. During the investigation, the police confirmed that Mohammed Ijad does not reside in the mentioned address.
