Mangaluru, Sep 11, 2015 : A 67-year-old farmer was found dead in his house in Sullia town on Thursday.The Sullia police said Sanjeeva Rao was found hanging from the roof of his house. They said they had recovered a note purportedly written by the deceased farmer. The note mentions that an infection in his right leg led to gangrene and doctors had to amputate it a few weeks ago. The letter also mentions that he had repaid Rs. 2 lakh of the Rs. 4 lakh loan had taken.
Superintendent of Police Sharanappa S.D. said there was nothing in the note stating that he had committed suicide because of harassment from creditors. His family members too have not said anything of harassment. The police have registered a case of unnatural death, he said.
