Farmer injured in hit and run succumbs

Karkala, June 5, 2014 : Denis D’Souza (40), a progressive farmer from Bola Kodi in the taluk, riding his bike on his way back after inviting his relatives to a function.

His bike was hit in Mundkur on June 2 by an unidentified vehicle which  fled. He was admitted to A J Hospital, Mangalore in a serious condition and  succumbed to injuries on June 4. He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.

Denis D’Souza was a progressive farmer, engaged in cattle-farming and milk supply. He took up toddy-tapping as a trade and was an active member of the toddy-tappers’ association.
