Father taken into custody, fails to produce child in family court

Mangaluru, July 9, 2016: It is reported that the Puttur rural police arrested a man for absconding and failing to produce his child in the family court within a specific time. The police took the man and the child into custody on Thursday morning.

Andu Kunhi and his wife Safiya had a dispute which went to the court. The court ordered that the child be given father’s custody till May 30 after which the child should be produced before the court. However, he failed to obey orders and was absconding. The police were instructed that he be arrested.  The father and child were produced before the family court in Mangaluru on July 7, Thursday.
