Felix D’Souza becomes president of Jayashrikrishna Parisara Premi Samithi

Mangalore, Nov 28, 2012: Felix D’Souza is the new president of the DK district unit of the NGO Jayashrikrishna Parisara Premi Samithi.

Announcing the above at a press meet held today, Honorary President Dr. B. M. Hegde said that the association has played a key role in the development of the district, adding that the new president has recently returned to Mangalore after working in Mumbai for some time. Mr. D’Souza was an active social worker in Mumbai and was involved in a number of social welfare activities, he added.

Speaking about the future plans of the association, he said that it has planned a number of social service activities. Recently, it is supporting the ban on plastic use imposed by the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC), he said.

He announced that the association will organize a public plastic awareness campaign as part of which it will distribute cotton bags free of charge in malls and other places.

Among those present were Felix D’Souza, Jayakrishna Shetty, and Ashwath Hegde.
