Udupi, March 6, 2016: Deputy Commissioner Dr R Vishal directed the officials concerned to ensure systematic conduct of the PU examinations. DDPU R B Nayak informed that a helpline has been opened for the benefit of the students.

There are 29 examination centers in the district. Of the total 14,845 students, 2,447 are arts students, 8,006 are commerce students while 4,392 are science students. 13,309 are freshers, 1,067 are private students and 469 are repeaters.

There are 7,611 girls and 7,234 boys students.
Deputy commissioner said the students should be offered better infrastructural facilities like drinking water and cleanliness should be maintained in the toilets.

Advise to MESCOM :  He added the department should write a letter for MESCOM over load shedding or power shortage problems. If power problem persists in the centers, the centers should be equipped with soundless generator, he said. Students should be taken care so that they are not writing the exams under pressure, deputy commissioner said.

The principals of colleges are the chief superintendents along with other senior faculty. The vigilance and mobile squads are deployed to look into the illegal activities. The police will take up security aspects ensuring safety to all the examination centers. He said the custodians will play a major role and they should maintain cordial relationship with the treasury officials.
