Final rites of Congress leader Manjunath Udyavar held

Udupi, August 31,2012: The final rites of Manjunath Udyavar, senior Congress leader, who died this Wednesday, were held in his native place on Thursday.

 

Oscar Fernandes, general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), placed wreaths on the casket holding the mortal remains of the departed leader, with who he was associated for a long time.

The deceased had been the personal secretary of Oscar Fernandes for 32 years.

Several Congress MLAs, MPs, leaders, and workers offered flowers and paid their final respects. A bundh was observed in Udyavar town in honor of the deceased.
