First Tulu telefilm Porlu-Onchuru Marl released

Mangalore, March 17, 2014: The release ceremony of ‘Porlu – Onchuru Marlu’ album and telefilm was celebrated with much grandeur at Town Hall on Saturday, 15th March amidst a slew of dignitaries. The guests on the dais included Sandalwood stars Rakshith Shetty of Simplag Ond Love Story and Ulidavaru Kandante fame, Yajna Shetty of Ulidavaru Kandante, Youth Congress leader Mithun Rai, DID Fame Kishore Aman, Manoj Kumar Shetty amidst others.

 

Roopesh T Shetty, popularly known as VJ Roopesh, is a multitalented personality. He has successfully released his first album titled ‘Moke’ and has now forayed into his second venture ‘Porlu – Onchur Marlu’. This album has six songs, all of which have been penned down, directed and sung by Roopesh himself.

The album is a unique attempt in itself, as it consists of songs that have been mixed and mastered in Florida, USA. For the first time in the industry, Tulu Rap song has been introduced. Also, this is the first time Devdas Kapikad has recorded an album song.

Various stars from the Tulu film industry were felicitated on the occasion. The other guests included Arjun Moraes, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, Devdas Kapikad, Vijayanath Vittal Shetty, Aravind Bolar, Dinesh Attavar etc.

“It is not easy to release an album, that too in such a manner. It’s a huge investment and equally great a risk. But I took it up as a challenge. There were a lot of obstacles and hurdles. But with determination, I was able to overcome it. The response from the audience was quite encouraging. I wish to thank each and every one for their support” said Roopesh T Shetty.

The trailers of the album are already available on Youtube, and the DVD is expected to be available for sale in a few weeks.
