Mangaluru, June 20, 2015: In a complaint filed with the Mangaluru North police, a  case of debit card cloning is suspected regarding  a medical student on June 19, Friday.

it was  found Rs. 1.18 lakh withdrawn from his account.  Mohammed Toufeeq, a Malaysian who is an MBBS student of  KMC - Kastruba Medical College, was shocked to see messages on his mobile phone about withdrawal of Rs. 1.18 lakh from his account between 10.47 p.m. of Thursday (June 18) and 5.04 a.m. of Friday.


The police said preliminary investigation had revealed that the amount had been removed from ATMs abroad.   They suspected that the debit card must have been cloned.
