06 NOV 15 : Sources in the hospital stated that   former Minister H.G. Govinde Gowda, who underwent a hip replacement surgery at the Kasturba Hospital is recovering.   Gowda, who is 90 years old, had been admitted to the Kasturba Hospital after having a fall at his house in Sringeri. He underwent  hip replacement surgery at the hospital here three days ago. He was shifted from the Intensive Care Unit to a special room on November 4.

Govinde Gowda, served as Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Minister in the H.D. Deve Gowda and J.H. Patel governments in the State.
