Ganja seized at Katipalla ; drug peddler gives cops a slip

Mangalore , Feb 5, 2013 : Suratkal police who raided a place near the fifth Block in Katipalla  on February 5, Tuesday, have seized 650 gms of ganja which was being sold in a vehicle. However, the drug peddler who got a hint of the police raid, was successful in giving the cops a slip.

The seized ganja is said to be worth RS 10,000. The accused who escaped has been identified as Keshava who is said to be engaged in drug peddling since several years.

The raid followed the recent public outrage over the suicide of a young girl after falling victim to drug abuse.
