Green ward campaign today, Vriksha Bandhana at Chilimbi Hills

Mangaluru, Aug 18,2016: Vriksha Bandhana and Raksha Bandhana programme will be the novelty at Chilimbi Hills, Adarsha Nagar, at Derebail (ward number 24) today,  August 18. The programme is being organised by Adarsha Friends Association. Green Ward campaign will be initiated on the occasion.

 Derebail corporator Rajanish Kapikad told media that the campaign will be inaugurated by Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo, by tying Raksha Bandhan to the trees in Adarsha Nagar Road. Mayor K Harinath will preside over the programme.

Rajanish said the responsibility of growing saplings will be handed over to residents, organisations and companies of the locality to create awareness on environment protection. Also, the programme’s objective is to plant saplings in the dividers from KSRTC to Kuntikan, along with planting saplings on the roadside.

Rajanish said a drawing competition and a slogan competition will be held for the children on Kapikad cluster and ward number 24 at Beary’s Public School, Hathill, Ladyhill at 9 am on August 20.

Sahyadri Sanchaya convener Dinesh Holla will inaugurate the competitions. Former Mayor Mahabala Marla will preside over the programme.  The valedictory programme  and also the inauguration of Beary’s and Ladyhill School Road will be held at Beary’s Public School, Hathill, Ladyhill, at 10.30 am on August 28.

The road will be inaugurated by MLA J R Lobo. Mayor Harinath will preside over the function. District In-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai will participate in the programme.
