Hotelier Dinesh Shetty dies in tragic road accident

May 13: Dinesh S. Shetty (34) of Kalavara in Kundapur, a successful hotelier, died in a road accident on the national highway at Kiruvatti, near Kumta, on May 10, Monday. 

Mr. Shetty was returning to Mumbai with friends in a Toyota Innova car after participating in the last rites of his father, who died on April 26 in Kundapur. When they Kiruvati at 10:20 p.m., the front tyre of the car burst. Owing to the impact, the car rolled into a roadside trench; and the passengers were hurled out of it.  

While Mr. Shetty died on the spot, one of his friends died in KMC Hospital Manipal. Two more friends are fighting for their life in the same hospital.  

Dinesh, who went to Mumbai after his SSLC, started his career as a canteen worker. He completed his BCom at a night college in Goregaon. A decade ago, he established Mansi Bar and Restaurant at Chakala. He established Hotel Ratna Park View in the same place 3 years back and became widely known as a successful hotelier. Dinesh also celebrated his first wedding anniversary recently.  

His last rites were held at Kalavara on May 11, Tuesday.
