House, transformer damaged as trees fall

Mangaluru, June 3, 2015: A tiled house was damaged near the Old Gate in Sullia after a coconut tree fell on it after heavy rain accompanied by winds lashed the town on Tuesday evening. No one was injured in the incident. Reports reaching here said that a tree fell on an electricity transformer also near the Old Gate damaging it. Heavy rain lashed the town for more than an hour.

Meanwhile, a release from the Department of Information and Public Relations here said that three persons lost their lives and six were injured in lightning in Dakshina Kannada during May 2015. As many as 303 houses were damaged in rain.
