Udupi Aug 07, 2016 : The Malpe Youth Organisation is hoping to be raising funds for soldiers who either died or were injured on the border in exchange of fire, through Huli Vesha dance performances during the Krishna Janmashtami and Vittal Pindi festivals on August 24 and 25.
Addressing media, Rakshith Kotian, president of the organisation, said that every year, a group of 35 Huli Vesha dancers used to give dance performances in and around Malpe during these festivals. This year, they had decided to raise funds for the welfare of about 15 to 20 dead or injured soldiers.
The funds would be provided after deducting the charges for costumes and paint used during the dance. The performers would not charge their fee. The funds raised would be provided to the families of the soldiers on August 28 at a programme titled “Samarpan 2016”.
