Mangalore, May 25, 2014: On May 24,the Surathkal  police are said to have arrested one Manjunath, hailing from Hassan and was residing in Munchur in Surathkal. His wife Nayana (23) had allegedly committed suicide on May 23. The victim’s  father had alleged that Manjunath had forced his daughter Nayana,  to commit suicide as he was regularly torturing her. Manjunath had enrolled for PhD programme at NITK recently. domestic violence is rapidly becoming a common problem and long term concrete solutions need to be found soon.
