International Women’s Day celebrated at Milagres Church

Mangalore, March 8: Milagres Church celebrated International Women’s Day on March 7, Sunday. Episcopal Vicar Fr Stany Goveas celebrated the Holy Mass, after which there was a programme at the Senate Hall. 

Fr Walter D’Mello organized the prayer service. The comperer welcomed the chief guests to the dais by offering them flowers. 

Fr. Goveas lit the lamp and inaugurated the programme. Later, Fr. D’Mello, Lily Periera, Alwyn Rosario, Gerald Pinto, and a representative from each parish lit the lamp. 

The keynote address was delivered by Lily Periera. A slideshow on women’s empowerment by Patsy Lobo was then showed. Participants presented a number of songs and skits on stage.
