Mangalore, Oct 9,2014: Addressing media,  Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management will organise a threeday international conference on ‘Agribusiness management -opportunities and challenges’ at the college seminar hall from October 9. 

  The organising committee member Prof Lokesh said that the inaugural function will be held at 4 pm, on 9.10.14. The conference will be inaugurated by KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar. Union Ministry of Agriculture management.   Agribusiness Centre Director Dr P Chandrashekhar will deliver key-note address and Bhandary Foundation Chairman Manjunath Bhandary will preside over. Lokesh said that the objective of the conference is to explore various opportunities for agribusiness in the globalised economic environment. The themes of the conference will be: Retaining youth in agriculture, creating employment through agribusiness, institutional and infrastructural framework for agribusiness management, entry of global agribusiness firms and FDI in agribusiness, domestic and international agricultural trade, eco-friendly agriculture and agri-business, agri-business management education, agricultural marketing and policy, agri-food supply chain management, commodity trading, harvest and post harvest technologies, innovative agri-business models, women in agri-business, agriculture services : finance, infrastructure and extension, corporate social responsibility and agri-business.
