Mangalore, Nov 2, 2012: J. T. Radhakrishna of Ananthapura in Andhra Pradesh has been appointed as the new director of Mangalore International Airport, as the successor of M. R. Vasudeva, who retired on Oct 31, Wednesday.
The new director took over from Mr. Vasudeva on Nov 1, Thursday.
Radhakrishna began his career in 1993 as the manager of the engineering department and was later transferred to Calicut Airport to supervise the expansion of its runway. He was then transferred to Mangalore Airport to supervise the expansion of its runway and the construction of its new terminal building.
The Best Engineer Award was conferred on him in 2010 for his successful planning of the new terminal building.
He was then transferred to Coimbatore Airport as its deputy general manager, after which he was promoted to the post of director of Mangalore International Airport.
