Jokatte Action Committee to protest demanding shutting down of MRPL

Mangaluru, Mar 19, 2018 : The Jokatte Citizens Action Committee and Anti-MRPL Committee of Suratkal will be staging a day and night dharna in front of the MRPL main gate on March 22 and 23 demanding  shutting down  of MRPL. The Committees have alleged that the  units have failed to solve the problems faced by the locals and were  causing widespread damage to environment.

The Committees have also alleged that the company has failed to adhere to the measures  which the government had suggested it to take up heeding to the protests by the residents  of Jokatte and  Kalavar.

Now the company is trying to acquire 811 acres of agricultural land for its fourth phase expansion without solving the problems posed by its already existing units, states a press communique from  the Samithi leader Muneer Katipalla.
