Mangalore, Nov 10: Justice B K Somashekhara, head of the inquiry commission that is unearthing the truth about the church attacks of Sept 14, 2008, informed that certain factors are responsible for the delay in submitting the interim report to the state government at the beginning of a sitting of the commission on Nov 9, Monday. He also said that, in the meantime, the enquiry process is in progress and no time is being wasted.
The justice revealed that 513 of the total 1,019 affidavits received by the commission have been investigated. The hearings at Chickballapur, Bangalore, Darward, and Kolar have reached a satisfactory conclusion. Currently, the complaints received in Mangalore city and Udupi are being investigated.
Vidyashakar, the secretary of the commission, said the chief investigations of the commission will be concluded at the end of December 2009.
