Mangalore, Nov 13: K S Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA) celebrated National Education Day on Nov 11, Wednesday. The Students’ Association, under the leadership of Abheesh Hegde, organized a debate, an interactive session, and a seminar as tributes to Moulana Azad, the first education minister of India.
Dr Arunachalam Kumar, the dean of KSHEMA, gave the welcome speech.
Dr. C R Ballal, professor emeritus, judged and moderated the debate on “Medical Education at Crossroads.” The best competitor turned out to be Aditi Mishra; and Karkala Prashanth won the best rebutter award.
Dr. Prakash, head of the department of general medicine, and Dr D K Shetty, professor emeritus (OBG) gave away the prizes. Dr. Sukanya Shetty, the staff advisor, distributed the participation certificates.
Dr Vijaya Shenoy, the head of the medical education unit, proposed the vote of thanks.
