KSRTC bus dashed into Omni - 3 dead, 5 injured

Uppinangady, May 5: A KSRTC bus dashed into a Maruti Omni on May 5, Wednesday, killing 3 members of a family, including a child, and injuring 5 more. The accident took place at Nidle in Belthangady. 

Eight people were travelling in the Maruti Omni. The express bus, which dashed into the Omni, was speeding in the opposite direction, from Subrahmanya to Dharmasthala. 

The deceased are Preksha (5), Subhash Shetty (30), and Prasad (35). Preksha died on the spot; and the other two died on the way to the hospital. The other five, who has sustained injuries, are taking treatment in Mangala Hospital in Mangalore. 

Uppinangady police have registered a case.
