KSRTC conductor, driver beaten by rowdy elements, passengers intimidated

Ujire, Sep 14, 2016: Reports reveal that three youths travelling on a scooter intercepted a KSRTC bus plying from State Bank to Ujire and assaulted the driver and conductor for not giving them way at Padil on Sept 12, Monday.

The youths reportedly not only assaulted the driver and conductor, but also verbally abused them. In the meantime, driver and conductor of another bus who came to tackle the situation were also assaulted.  The police managed to nab one of the accused, Mohanraj from Mangaluru while the other two, Pranesh and Neekshith escaped from the spot.

It is said that the trio after intercepting the bus, entered the bus and abused driver Kuppuralinga and also kicked him vital spots. The trio damaged the rear view mirrors of the bus. The passengers alighted from the bus out of fear.

The police rushed to the spot and arrested one of the youths. A case has been registered and is being investigated.
