Mangalore Today News Network

Puttur, Feb 14, 2013  : There was some amount of panic in Kadaba on the night of February 13, Wednesday, when a tiff between two government officials proved dangerous and one of them  fired at the place where the other was staying.

The two officials who were into a quarrel have been identified as Sudesh, an employee in land survey section and Jayachandra, a village accountant. Sources said the two had entered into a quarrel earlier in the town over some financial  matter. It is said Sudesh owed some money to Jayachandra  and the latter had demanded it  back, resulting in a quarrel.

On February 13 night, Jayachandra had stayed at the residence of a friend Jagadish at Kadaba as he could not get any transport to return  home.
Sources said that at midnight, Sudesh telephoned Jayachandra, and once again a quarrel ensued. This time things turned serious when Sudesh threatened to kill  Jayachandra and also arrived at his place with a gun and fired at his room.

However, no one was hurt as the bullet hit the window breaking the window pane. The incident caused panic and soon the police arrived and arrested Sudesh.

Interrogations of the arrested revealed that he had brought the gun for repair from his house at Coorg but chose to target it  against his acquaintance.

Investigations are in progress.
