Kadri police arrest 2 men in connection with copper plate theft

Mangalore, Nov 7, 2012 : The Kadri police have arrested two people in connection with the theft of copper plates from an apartment in Shivabhag.

The arrested are Abhishek alias Abi (19) of Addoor and Vishwanatha Devadiga alias Sharan (23).

On Nov 1, Shashishekhar Uchil of Shivadeep Residency in Shivabagh lodged a complaint with the Kadri police that someone had stolen copper plates worth Rs. 35,000 from the flat’s ducting.

On Tuesday, someone informed the Kadri police that two men were behaving in a suspicious manner in the deserted deer park in Kadri. The police visited the place and questioned the men, after which they retrieved a plastic bag containing 44 copper plates. The two admitted that they had stolen the copper plates and broken them down for easy disposal.

The accused were produced in court and are now in judicial custody.
