Kalladka communal riot – 38 released on bail

Mangalore, July 22, 2012: The Judicial Magistrate First Class Court in Bantwal granted bail to 38 people arrested in connection with the Kalladka communal riot on June 30.

Around 14 people in Madikeri jail and 24 in Udupi jail will be released on Saturday as the copy of the order will be ready on Saturday, said Ashwani Kumar Rai, the legal representative of 8 defendants.

The delay in granting bail was because the judge was attending a one-week training program in Bangalore.
