Karnataka Bandh may be tame in DK

Mangaluru, Sep 26, 2015:   Karnataka bandh called by pro-Kannada organizations is expected to be a tame affair in this coastal reegion of DK. today. The 6 am to 6m bundh to protest implementing the Kalasa Banduri and Mekdatu projects.

As a preventive measure,  some schools have postponed examinations to be held today to next week and have asked students not to come to school if the situation is tense keeping safety as the vital reason. 

KSRTC officials clarified that their employees were not expected to  participate  in the bandh and the division will operate services as best as possible.  Observing the situation, long distance routes will be run but local services to Puttur, Sullia should operate normally.  Spot  decision on operating services will be taken as it may not be right to run buses with just five or six passengers. 

The private buses and auto  unions are not in favour of a bandh with the issue not of importance to this area and the Yettinahole matter hanging fire.
