Mangalore, May 7: The Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy will organize state level Duff competition at the ‘Janapada kala Mela’ to be held at ‘Don Bosco Hall’ on May 11, Tuesday.
Speaking at the press meet on May 7, Friday, B Chandrahas Rai B, registrar, Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy said that, there are around 60 different types of songs and dance in beary language, in order to introduce to the people, the programme will be arranged.
Around 20 state level Duff team will participate in the event. The first prize winners will be awarded with the cash prize of Rs 10,000, while the second and third prize winner will give awarded with Rs 7, 000 and Rs 5, 000 respectively, he said.
Manu Baligar, director of Kannada and Cultural Department, Bangalore will inaugurate the event, while M B Abdul Rehman, president of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy will preside on the occasion. District in charge minister Krishna J Palemar, MLA Yogesh Bhat, MLA U T Khader, Banannje Babu Amin, scholar and Maulvi N H Adam Faizi will participate as the chief guest.
