Mangalore Today News Network

Kasargod, June 18,2016 , June 18,2016:There have been several cases of dengue and malaria reported in Kasargod. It is said that one girl succumbed to dengue. However, apart from the increasing cases of ill-health, about 18 doctors’ posts have been left vacant at Kasargod City Government and General Hospital.

The government has not taken steps to fill the posts, even though cases of dengue and malaria have been increasing. This has forced people to go to private hospitals in Mangaluru, Periyaram Medical College Hospital and Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.

This has put a burden on the poor people. However, the government seems to be insensitive towards people’s problems.  Apart from this, as many as 11 villages are suffering the ill effects of endosulfan and due to the shortage of doctors and apathy of authorities’, people are forced to suffer  in a serious way.
