Kasargod: Speeding bus overturns killing 1, injuring 20

Kasargod, Jan 29,2013 :  A Kozhikode to Kasargod bus overturned near Bekal on  January 28, Monday, killing the cleaner of the bus and injuring 20 others. The deceased has been identified as Abdul Rahiman (29)  from Mallapuram.

Of the injured, the condition of a woman is critical and she has been admitted to a hospital in Mangalore.

The mishap took place when the driver of the ill-fated bus tried to overtake another vehicle and eventually lost control. Locals also stated that the same bus was intercepted a week ago for rash driving and later allowed to proceed after a warning.

Bekal police have registered a case.
