Kaup police seize Rs 20 lakh unaccounted cash hidden in lorry

Udupi, March 25, 2013: Unaccounted cash worth Rs 20 lakh which was found hidden under the driver’s seat of a lorry, was seized by the Kaup police on March 25, Tuesday. It is suspected that the cash was meant for use during the parliamentary elections.

A police team led by Kaup Inspector Sunil Nayak intercepted the lorry at Kaup, following a definite information that cash was hidden in the vehicle. The lorry was  travelling towards Mangalore from Udupi.

On a thorough examination, the police found the cash under the driver’s seat.
